**Pressure** (symbol **p**, SI unit Pascal (Pa), equal to N/m^{2} or kg/m·s^{2}) is the amount of force over a given area. Pressure is equal to force over area.

- $ p = \frac{F}{a} $

In the case of a uniform fluid, pressure is equal to

- $ p = \rho g h $

Where *ρ* is the density of the fluid, *g* is acceleration due to gravity, and *h* is the height of the fluid above the point at which pressure is being determined.
